We are pleased to offer root trainers for sale, (UK only) these are the same as we use at Somerset Sweet Peas they provide ideal growing modules for Autumn/Spring sown sweet peas and can also be used for vegetables and flower seedlings, they are easy to use and can be reused many times, once the roots reach the bottom of the root trainer they are air pruned this helps to promote a healthy secondary rooting system, and minimum disturbance when planting out. We recommend sowing sweet peas slightly later early November and make sure the growing media doesn’t dry out especially the outer side module’s.
The root trainers complete are 36cm long x 21cm wide x 12cm deep they contain 32 cells, 8 books containing 4 cells each, the books fold in half and are inserted in the tray, a good tip when you get to no 8 place you fingers on one hand ( one in each cell of no7 ) and draw them back, this will give easy access to for the last 4 cells.

When comparing costs on line please make sure the root trainer trays are included some companies don’t we do, also make sure they are 12cm deep. Smaller root trainers are not suitable for sweet pea culture. Please note we also show our postage costs other companies hide there’s.
